Annual Fund Drive 2009
Dear Friend of Baltimore Art & Music Project:

December 2009 will mark our 15th anniversary! This has been an exciting year for us; our new name has broadened our horizons and opened doors to new opportunities, allowing us to serve an ever-widening circle with the healing powers of art, culture and music for all ages. Your support has made all the difference. Our mission and programming continues to provide “the arts” as an all-inclusive means for individuals to express themselves and to empower communities with the tools necessary for creating self-directed neighborhoods. Our “Go Green” initiative in 2008 has successfully replaced much of our promotion with our new website: www.baltimoreamp.com and Constant Contact database, opening doors never imagined!
BaltimoreAMP 2009 Highlights:
- October 26th BaltimoreAMP was honored to host chief researcher, Mitsuhiro Yoshimoto, for a project commissioned by the Japan Foundation for Regional Art-Activities (JAFRA). The research project focused on cultural community outreach programs both in Japan and other industrialized nations. Via BaltimoreAMP website, initial correspondence stated: “Based on the preliminary research, we have found the programs of Baltimore Art & Music Project to be a good example and would like to ask for an interview with you or one of your executives”.
- Continued partnership with the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) college workstudy program as an off-campus work-site provided 8 college staff in FY08 & FY09 to build leadership and “pass the torch” to the next generation.
- Partnership established with Baltimore County Public Library to bring BaltimoreAMP programming to libraries county-wide
- A letter of commitment was submitted for the 2009 HOPE VI Revitalization Grant Application for the O’Donnell Heights Redevelopment as consultants for event planning.
- Partnership with Dundalk Youth Service Center after-school program at Dundalk Middle School
- Underground Youth Concert Series will conduct its 200th concert in January 2010
- A diverse array of programming, fundraising and partnerships continue in 2010 (See our calendar of events)
Our ability to serve depends on your vision and generosity. In these economic times, we hesitate to ask for your help. But ask we must. Whatever contribution you can make will be very much appreciated.
